A recent unsanctioned show at the Hamptons’ Keszier Gallery featured street art pieces from Banksy that angered many art fans. The pieces for the show seemed to be hand-removed from their natural environment in Palestine when originally placed for the 2007 ”Santa’s Ghetto event held in the West Bank four years ago. It turns out some of the street art pieces removed ended up at the unsanctioned show without Pest Control authentication, which in turn cannot be proved to be authentic Banksy pieces on display.
Banky’s latest piece in London references the notorious London graffiti artist/tagger Tox who was recently found guilty of seven counts of criminal damage and convicted at Blackfriars crown court in Central London. Tox has been in custody since his arrest over five months ago and is likely to face further jail time when sentenced on 1 July. The piece appeared this morning in Jeffreys Street in Camden Town, where Tox is from.
I just saw two of my t-designs featured on IGN.com’s “Daily Fix” I would definietly say thats a win and a good look! Thanks guys for the support :) you made my little designers heart go like this :) In this video you can see my "Reformed Maquina" tee.
In my eyes this makes BANKSY officially the man! This guy is a modern day ninja. Last night BANKSY pulled of his greatest stunt which was transforming the Rio de Janeiro’s ‘Christ the Redeemer’ into a 39.6 enormous statue of Osama Bin Laden. BANKSY was able to approach the statue by helicopter and used a specially made canister and spray nozzle similar to the ones used for insecticide to apply the paint. Think this is bullshit? read the article here
With that said thank you BANKSY for being the man and not giving a fuck we can all learn something…speak your mind and the art will follow
