An awesome documentary about the rise of Japan after the 3/11 incident. Watch how the young subculture of Japan is doing what they can to make a change and bring awareness. The creatives of Japan band together in order to make sure their home country thrives. I found this to be very inspirational because Japanese people are so resilient and this clearly is an example of it, they are defining the future of Tokyo on their own terms.

Well-known for both culture and technology, Tokyo will always amaze travelers with its exceptional visuals. Creative mind Alex Lee certainly looks at Tokyo as a goldmine for reference and inspiration. Lee took on the popular metropolis by creating this video which capture Tokyo’s trademark Shibuya crossing and its jammed-packed JR train among other sites. The video took a clever way of portraying the fast moving city by conveying images through the usage of slow motion, stop motion and time lapse. Lee also beautifully added pop elements by giving a nice toy camera feel throughout the video.

Kidult is back with another video. This time it’s “Illegal World,” produced by B.A. of the Peter Steele Project. It’s a sort of manifesto, arguing that graffiti actively resists systems that perpetuate war, terrorism and greed.

Check out “The Ghostfaced Pixel” Safety Words, an instrumental hip hop group from St. Louis, consisting of two producers who go by the names of Parisian and Dr. Phelonious. The mixtape they made called Ghostfaced Pixels, consist of them taking about 40 Nintendo games, flipped the music into beats, then paired them with Ghostface/Wu Tang acapellas. Parisian does all the scratching.

Switzerland’s current national airline (no, not that old one with the best branding possible) has undergone a rebrand and Brand New has all the details. A lot of people have been grumbling that the original “cube” logo was better — and I certainly agree — but judging this at face value, I have to say I’m into into it.

I’m not sharing this video because of the NFL or because of the athlete. I’m sharing this because of the important message related directly to success and finding it. You’ve heard it before: If you want to be on the same level as the people that you look up to, you’ll need to work really, really hard. The secrets to success are revealed through hard work. This does not mean do not sleep. However, it does mean you need to prioritize. It is a metaphor for certain things in life that you do that can and quite possibly, need to be sacrificed.

A recent unsanctioned show at the Hamptons’ Keszier Gallery featured street art pieces from Banksy that angered many art fans. The pieces for the show seemed to be hand-removed from their natural environment in Palestine when originally placed for the 2007 ”Santa’s Ghetto event held in the West Bank four years ago. It turns out some of the street art pieces removed ended up at the unsanctioned show without Pest Control authentication, which in turn cannot be proved to be authentic Banksy pieces on display.

Kidrobot x Swatch Collaboration
